Trafalgar Falls, Dominica, W.I.
I remember getting here and seeing the falls from right here… and I remember Gary telling us that “only the adventurous” should follow him. We took our clothes and shoes off, and started climbing down. We passed through freezing cold water, and then natural hot springs. We crawled through and down little tunnels with water slides made out of the rocks. Once we got to the bottom, we started the climb up. Hands and feet all the way up. I only slipped a few times. I didn’t turn around until we got to the base of the falls, but when I did… it was incredible. I wish I had a photo of the view down. I had never, and still have never seen anything like it. It was as if the forrest was floating around me. I had one of those huge open mouth smiles on, and felt like crying it was so beautiful. Crazy, I know… but once you’ve been to this amazing island and witnessed it’s natural beauty for yourself, you will understand.
